映画『君の名は。』を勧められたので観たら、予想以上に感動し、

先入観だけでダメだと思わず何でもトライしてみるもんだと改めて感じた週末でした 😉

先入観に関する出来事を、もう一つ。

お彼岸を知らせてくれるかのように彼岸花がいたるところで咲き出しましたね✿

小さい頃は、彼岸花と聞くと勝手に不気味なイメージを持っていて近づかないように避けていました。

彼岸花を好きだという人に会ったことはありませんが、

家の隅っこに咲いている白い彼岸花を見て、その自然美に魅了されてしまいました 😯 

英語で「cluster‐amaryllis」「red spider lily」などと言うようで、

lilyの名前が示す通りユリ科に含められるそうです。

何事もちょっと視点を変えるだけで、その存在が180度変わりますね☆

I went to my first football (soccer) match in Japan yesterday. It was a lovely day! The weather was pleasant – not too hot, too cold or raining. It’s a lovely stadium, there were plenty of stalls selling food and memorabilia. There was a festival atmosphere as I walked around the stalls, smelling the wonderful food and looking at the uniforms, teddy bears, scarves and such like. Ehime FC’s kit for home games is orange and it was lovely to see so many bright colours around me.

Before the game began there were displays of dancing and singing on the pitch, that was wonderful to see. During the game there were many chants being sung and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It was quite an exciting game, at halftime the score was 1-1 (1 all) and there was anticipation in the air. The second half was just as exciting, unfortunately Ehime FC lost 3-2, but I thought it was a great effort.

Do you go to see any sports events live, or do you prefer to watch them on television?

One of many things I enjoy doing in autumn is fishing. My family can’t get enough of the great outdoors, so what better time than now while it’s still relatively warm. We usually ride our bicycles towards Hojo and go fishing along Mitsuhama, Horie, and even as far as Kashima Island. This season we hope to catch black sea bream(chinu). It really is rewarding to eat your own catch. Mind you, there are times we spend the same amount of money on bait and hooks as we would just buying straight from the supermarket.

Other fish I love around this time is Pacific saury(sanma), and salmon. We obviously can’t fish for them here, but I always buy them fresh from the market and eat them straight off the grill.

What autumn foods do like to eat?

昨日は台風一過で清々しい一日でしたね。

❝What is your favorite season?❞と聞かれたら、私は❝Fall❞と答えます。

理由は様々ですが、特に秋の香りが好きです 🙂 

秋に匂いなんてあるの？と思われるかもしれませんが、あります☆

稲刈り前の黄金色に輝く稲が風に揺られて香る穂の匂いが、まず秋を知らせてくれます。

それから、金木犀❀

愛媛県東予出身の人たちにとって、秋祭りの時期を知らせてくれる大事な香りです。

昔から、日本人は自然と近いところで暮らしてきました。

私の祖父は私にとってのお天気予報士ですが、

昔の人は空や山の様子を見るだけで自然と対話が出来ていたんですね。

それって素敵だなと思います☆

さて、秋を代表する食べ物、栗。

愛媛県伊予市の特産中山栗が、全国的に有名ですね。

英語ではchestnutといいます🌰

As I walked through the mall last week I noticed that the supermarket had already started cashing in on Halloween-related goods. Cookies, sweets, chips, and candy packages were designed with jack-o-lanterns,  ghosts and haunted houses. It has grown more and more popular in recent years. Just take a stroll along Okaido during Halloween weekend and you’re bound to see people masquerading and parading up and down the arcade. I’m already starting to think about what my costume will be this year. Even though I feel that it’s too early to start  promoting it, here are a couple of cute riddles to get you into the spirit of Halloween.
