みなさま、こんにちは！

代講で来てもらっているバングラデシュ人のサム先生から、

いろいろとバングラデシュ文化を教えてもらっているお～じろうです(*･ω･)ノ

生徒さんからは松山にバングラデシュ人がほとんどいないため、

「初めて会った！」「レアですね！」と面白い反応を頂いております。

さて、今週は前置詞の基本単語クイズです。

下記の英英辞典の定義になりそうな英単語を考えてみてください。

1.touching a surface or being supported by a surface

2.used with the name of a container, place, or area to say where someone or something is

3.to the inside or inner part of a container, place, area etc

4.below or at a lower level than something, or covered by something

5.above or higher than something, without touching it

6.in or through the space that separates two things, people, or places

7.used to say who is intended to get or use something, or where something is intended to be used

8.starting at a particular place or position

9.used to say exactly where something or someone is, or where something happens

10.in or through the middle of a group of people or things

答えは1.on 2.in 3.into 4.under 5.over 6.between 7.for 8.from 9.at 10.among

簡単すぎた方もいれば、難しかった方もいるかと思います。

ですが上記の例文（英英辞典の定義）を読んで理解し単語を推測する力がつけば英語の基礎力が付きます。

ちなみに前置詞はイメージで覚えるのも効果的です。

グーグルで「前置詞　イメージ」と検索するとたくさん画像が出てきますので、参考にしてみてくださいね！

なお、前置詞は英語で　”preposition”といい定義は以下のようになります。

a word that is used before a noun, pronoun, or gerund to show place, time, direction etc. In the phrase ‘the trees in the park’, ‘in’ is a preposition.

gerundは「動名詞」になります。

どんなことでも手を抜きすぎないようにする大切さを学びました｡(ρﾟ∩ﾟ) 

さて、今週の英単語は方角です。下記の4つの例文はそれぞれ南北東西を説明しています。

どれがどの方角を表しているかわかりますか？

1. the direction that is at the bottom of a map of the world, below the Equator. It is on the right if you are facing the rising sun

2. the direction that is at the top of a map of the world, above the Equator. It is on the left if you are facing the rising sun

3. the direction towards which the sun goes down, and which is on the left if you are facing north

4. the direction from which the sun rises, and which is on the right if you are facing north

答えは

1. south 2. north 3.west 4.east

簡単すぎた方もいれば、難しかった方もいるかと思います。
