英会話・英語 アミック Ehime FC game
I went to my first football (soccer) match in Japan yesterday. It was a lovely day! The weather was pleasant – not too hot, too cold or raining. It’s a lovely stadium, there were plenty of stalls selling food and memorabilia. There was a festival atmosphere as I walked around the stalls, smelling the wonderful food and looking at the uniforms, teddy bears, scarves and such like. Ehime FC’s kit for home games is orange and it was lovely to see so many bright colours around me.
Before the game began there were displays of dancing and singing on the pitch, that was wonderful to see. During the game there were many chants being sung and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It was quite an exciting game, at halftime the score was 1-1 (1 all) and there was anticipation in the air. The second half was just as exciting, unfortunately Ehime FC lost 3-2, but I thought it was a great effort.
Do you go to see any sports events live, or do you prefer to watch them on television?
英会話・英語 アミック Fishing in autumn
One of many things I enjoy doing in autumn is fishing. My family can’t get enough of the great outdoors, so what better time than now while it’s still relatively warm. We usually ride our bicycles towards Hojo and go fishing along Mitsuhama, Horie, and even as far as Kashima Island. This season we hope to catch black sea bream(chinu). It really is rewarding to eat your own catch. Mind you, there are times we spend the same amount of money on bait and hooks as we would just buying straight from the supermarket.
Other fish I love around this time is Pacific saury(sanma), and salmon. We obviously can’t fish for them here, but I always buy them fresh from the market and eat them straight off the grill.
What autumn foods do like to eat?

みなさま、こんにちは！
先週、突然、歩くのも辛いくらいの腰痛（お尻も含む）に襲われて、焦ってネットで調べたら、
座りすぎでお尻が固くなっているかもしれないからマッサージすると良いとの情報を得て、
半信半疑で2~3分マッサージしたらあっという間に痛みが引いていったお～じろうです(*･ω･)ノ

さて、最近、生徒様への宿題や単語テストに英英辞典の定義を使っています。
みなさんは下記の英英辞典の定義を読んで何の単語を思い浮かべますか？
1.a food made of thin flat round bread, baked with tomato, cheese, and sometimes vegetables or meat on top
2.two pieces of bread with cheese, meat, cooked egg etc between them
3.a soft sweet food made by baking a mixture of flour, butter, sugar, and eggs
4.a frozen sweet food made of milk, cream, and sugar, with fruit, nuts, chocolate etc sometimes added to it
5.an Italian food made from flour, eggs, and water and cut into various shapes, usually eaten with a sauce
ちなみに答えは下記の通りです。

意外と知られていないのですが、
学習者用の英英辞典の定義は基本とされる2,000~3,000の単語（出版社によって語数が違う）で構成されています。
全ての単語をこの基本語で説明していることから、この基本語を使いこなせば、大抵の言いたいことは言えるようになります。
英検で言えば2級合格くらいで、英英辞典の定義を読んでも知らない単語がない状態になるといったところです。
ですので、英検準2級や2級合格を目指す方には逆にどんどん英英辞典を活用してもらえたらと思います。
自分の知っている単語の英英辞典での定義を調べて読んでみる。
ただ楽しんで読んでみる。
音読して覚えてみる。
書き出して覚えてみる。
学習方法は様々ですが、英語を英語で考える習慣ができ、本当の英語力が付いていきます。
無理する必要はないですが、自分の英語力をもう一歩先に進めたい方にオススメです。

秋の香り
昨日は台風一過で清々しい一日でしたね。
こんにちは、今日もアミックブログを訪れていただきありがとうございます 😀
❝What is your favorite season?❞と聞かれたら、私は❝Fall❞と答えます。
理由は様々ですが、特に秋の香りが好きです 🙂
秋に匂いなんてあるの？と思われるかもしれませんが、あります☆
稲刈り前の黄金色に輝く稲が風に揺られて香る穂の匂いが、まず秋を知らせてくれます。
それから、金木犀❀
愛媛県東予出身の人たちにとって、秋祭りの時期を知らせてくれる大事な香りです。
昔から、日本人は自然と近いところで暮らしてきました。
私の祖父は私にとってのお天気予報士ですが、
昔の人は空や山の様子を見るだけで自然と対話が出来ていたんですね。
それって素敵だなと思います☆
さて、秋を代表する食べ物、栗。
愛媛県伊予市の特産中山栗が、全国的に有名ですね。
英語ではchestnutといいます🌰

英会話・英語 アミック Halloween…already?
As I walked through the mall last week I noticed that the supermarket had already started cashing in on Halloween-related goods. Cookies, sweets, chips, and candy packages were designed with jack-o-lanterns, ghosts and haunted houses. It has grown more and more popular in recent years. Just take a stroll along Okaido during Halloween weekend and you’re bound to see people masquerading and parading up and down the arcade. I’m already starting to think about what my costume will be this year. Even though I feel that it’s too early to start promoting it, here are a couple of cute riddles to get you into the spirit of Halloween.
